WHY CHOOSE MONORAIL
A design aesthetic that’s simple and lovely combined with
incredible flexibility in application makes a MonoRail system the
ultimate interior lighting tool. Solve lighting challenges from
simple to complex. MonoRail can be configured in thousands
of ways for a virtually limitless number of residential and
commercial applications.
ANATOMY OF MONORAIL
For design harmony, all the power, standoff and fixture connections
to the MonoRail are shaped identically. MonoRail is hand-bendable
and field-cuttable. Each piece of rail is shipped with conductive
connectors to join rail pieces end to end. Order additional
connectors if cutting and rejoining rails.
BUILDING YOUR MONORAIL SYSTEM
The first step in designing and building your MonoRail system
is determining what it is you are trying to light. Decide where
to install the fixtures so the light goes where you want. Choose
fixtures then add the accessories you want. Your MonoRail must be
placed so it runs directly beneath the junction box with the surface
transformer or power feed canopy. MonoRail systems come in a kit
or custom order.
KITS
For easy ordering, we offer several convenient MonoRail Kits
(P. 24) These include every component you need to install a
pre-configured MonoRail system in the size and shape of your
choice. Simple, straight-forward and ready to go!
CUSTOM
For those do-it-yourself types, we offer custom orders. Choose
every part and feature of your system, then configure it into your
own unique installation. Take full advantage of the creativity and
flexibility available in MonoRail systems!
MONORAIL BASICS
TIPS FOR KEEPING IT SIMPLE
TIP ONE
To calculate the amount of rail you’ll need for an organic shape,
draw the MonoRail run to scale (for example, 1/4" = 1'). Use a piece
of string to “trace” the drawing. Measure the length of string, then
convert from your scale.
TIP TWO
It is possible to apply both accent lighting and ambient lighting
simultaneously on a single MonoRail system, even with design
challenges such as steeply sloped ceilings. Combine hanging
pendants with heads that rotate and pivot for incredible reach in
illumination. Adjustable standoffs align the rail with the floor even
if the ceiling slopes.
