The Hotel Club, Beijing, China is the result of an ambitious
project - a club in a luxurious, residential complex frequented by
the owners of the homes in the complex and members of the local
government. The club interiors have a classical ambience and
atmosphere, both in the finishes and the colors and furnishings. The
choice is for subtle, warm colors and soft, delicate textiles that transmit
a feeling of elegant, studied but unostentatious luxury and richness.
Visionnaire’s contribution is not limited to the interior design, however,
but includes the landscaping of the enormous garden and grounds,
from the area leading to the entrance, the grounds around the villas
and lastly, the garden in front of the club. Landscape features used
included rows of trees, tree-lined streets, paths, densely planted
shrubs and bushes and borders, all forming a harmonious whole that
interacts perfectly with the buildings. An elegant glass conservatory
blurs the lines between interior and the exterior, making the building an
integral part of the wider picture. The formal garden in front of the club
takes inspiration from the Italian Renaissance garden and its principles
of perspective, proportion, symmetry and geometric planting beds. It
is a garden where shades of green, combined with the stone of the
architectural elements, constitute the only note of color. The beds are
planted with the species traditionally found in the Italian garden.
