Diese Kanne stammt aus dem aus mehreren Teilen bestehenden 1924
ent worfenen Tee- und Kaffee-Service, von dem nur ein kompletter Satz
bekannt ist. Von der Teekanne jedoch gibt es mehrere Exemplare in verschie-
denen Museen, so auch im Museum of Modern Art, New York, von dem wir
freundlicherweise die genauen Maße erhielten. Die Teekanne ist sicher das
Teil, das am konsequente sten nach den Formprinzipien des Bauhauses
durchgestaltet wurde.
This pot is a part of the tea and coffee set, designed in 1924. Only one
complete set is known to exist. The tea pot, on the other hand, is in several
museums, among others in the Museum of Modern Art, New York. They were
very obliging in giving us a technical drawing from which our reproduction
was manufactured. The tea pot is the part of the set which most strictly
follows the formal princip les of the Bauhaus school.

Marianne Brandt entwarf das Tee-Extraktkännchen bereits am Ende ihres
ersten Studienjahres in der Metallwerkstatt. Sie gilt als eine der wichtigsten
Ikonen des Bauhauses. Ein besonderes Designmerkmal ist das typische,
kreuzförmige Fußteil. Die heutige Ausführung des Tee-Extraktkännchen wird
als Sammleredition in versilbertem Messing hergestellt. Auf Anfrage ist
das Tee-Extraktkännchen zusätzlich in 925er Sterlingsilber und Ebenholz
erhältlich.
Marianne Brandt designed the tea extract jug at the end of her first year
of study at the metal workshop. It is considered one of the most important
icons of the Bauhaus. A special design feature is the typical, cross-shaped
foot section. Today’s version of the tea extract jug is made as a collector’s
edition in silver-plated brass. On request, the tea extract pot is also available
in 925 sterling silver and ebony.
