This Marianne Brandt teapot
originates from the 1924 tea and
coffee set consisting of numerous
pieces, of which only one known
complete set exists. However,
there are several specimens of the
teapot in various museums,
including the Museum of Modern
Art, New York, which has kindly
given us the exact dimensions.
The teapot is certainly an object
that was designed most strictly
according to the formal Bauhaus
principles. The circle, sphere,
and square are the basic geometric
scheme of the design.
