3. CUSTOMISATION
At Porta Romana every product is made-to-order by our skilled
team. It’s that expertise which means that we can offer so much
flexibility and customisation. From smallest details of the wiring
specification, to changing the proportions of a piece of furniture
or designing a totally bespoke piece.
We come across new and interesting requests every day and we
enjoy the very collaborative process of creating a unique piece.
Naturally there are some limitations and when that happens we
always explore other options.
DECORATIVE FINISHES
Each Porta Romana painted piece is generally offered in two
or three standard finishes, with the help of our team, you can
choose from up to thirty different painted finishes to create your
perfect combination without any additional cost.
Additionally, there is opportunity to work with our artists to
adjust an existing finish to colour match, by lightening, darkening
or incorporating a different texture for example.
LIGHTING
The wiring details that can be customised include the colour and
length of flex, where the switch is located or even if the lamp has
a switch at all. The lampholder and other metalwork details are
available in nickel, bronze and brass options on many lamps.
Changing the painted finish works in just the same way as our
lighting and in collaboration with our team more significant
changes to elements of a design, like changing the texture of a
frame are possible too.
SAMPLING
We have a wide range of samples across our entire collection,
from fabric and painted swatch samples to ceramic, glass and
furniture top samples, all available from our Head Office and
Chelsea Harbour Showroom. The lampshade and decorative
finishes shown in this brochure are a useful guide and we always
recommend that you see a sample as you refine your selection.
If you require a bespoke drop

buying several pendants to cluster
together our design and technical
team can work with you to
visualise your design.
LAMPSHADES
Lampshades provide the ultimate opportunity for customisation
and we always suggest that you explore the linings, and light
output to achieve the perfect atmosphere for your interior.
FURNITURE
Furniture that is marked with the
tape measure symbol is
very suited to customisation, from adjusting the proportions, to
changing the top finish, either selecting from our 10 different top
finishes or if there is not a top within the range that suits then the
base can be provided separately.
