GIMBLE
A gimble is a round metal ring attached to the lampshade that
fits the lampshade to the table lamp, floor lamp or pendant light.
The gimble height is measured from the base of the shade, as
standard table lamp and floor lamp gimbles are 2.5” from the
base of shade, and wall lights 1.5” from the base of the shade.
ES Gimble
40mm internal diameter.
Used with ES (E27) lamps.
PLEATS
Gathered pleats are formed by
pinching the fabric at the top and
bottom of the shade, resulting in a
soft informal feel.
Box pleats are made up of two
wide vertical pleats, alternatively
raised and met.
Knife pleats consist of vertical
folds of equal width and are
sharply pressed.
BC Gimble
30mm internal diameter.
Used with SES (E14) and
G9 lamps.
Keyhole Wall Fixing
This method is used with securing a
shade to the wall, this allowing the
shade to sit as flush as possible.
Used on a selection of wall lights
which have this symbol.

BAFFLE/DIFFUSER
A disc of Perspex which can aid light diffusion. Diffusers go to
the bottom of a shade, and baffles to the top. Available in three
colour choices.
• Frosted White, providing maximum light output
• Champagne, gives a warm glow with minimum light output
• Pearl, a lustrous glow and a medium light output
CUSTOMERS OWN MATERIAL (COM)
We can make any shade in your own fabric provided that we have
seen and checked the suitability of your fabric in advance. We
always recommend that your fabric is supplied on a roll rather
than folded to prevent creasing in the final product.
There are a few details which are specific to our lampshade vocabulary and are explained here.
