PROGETTI DI DESIGN 08
The creative process of the designer from
Vicenza is inspired by an emotion, by an
element that strikes him and materializes
into distinctive objects, capable of creating
an emotional connection with the person
observing them. “It doesn’t matter if it is
a shape, a colour or a sound: my idea of
beauty is encapsulated in a detail”, he
states. “For me, drawing means capturing
the essence of what fascinates me, the
melancholy of a shadow or the poetic
effect of an unexpected reflection, and
immortalizing it on paper”. For Pianca,
Pier Luigi Frighetto imagines a timeless
oasis where the simplicity of the furniture
creates beauty and peace. “A place where
there are no appointments, obligations
or programmes. Where the clocks stop,
worries evaporate and the masks of
everyday living fall away”. A space free of
constraints, where beauty emerges from
the purity of forms. This vision materializes
in the form of a collection with striking
personality and a distinctively bold,
unmistakeable design.

— Q&A
— Do you still sketch by hand?
Yes, I still sketch by hand. A pencil is the
tool that allows me to capture emotions
and intuitions, which are then transformed
into my designs.
— If you had to compare your design style
to an art movement, what would it be?
My style does not refer to any specific
artistic movement, despite appreciating
the power of Brutalism and the perfection
of Modern art. I prefer to follow a personal
vision of my own, which comes from a mix
of different inspirations.
— What is the strangest or most unusual
thing that has inspired you for a design?
There is nothing banal that inspired me.
