Carmen is a ceiling lamp designed by Carmen Ferrara, honored with the Compasso D’Oro award for young designers. A simple structure and rigorous colors – black or white. This is what characterizes a lamp able to produce an indirect soft and cozy light which joins with a minimal design and a contemporary winsome style. The structure of Carmen is made with iron sheet, carefully trimmed with the laser technology and subsequently welded with silver wire, as in the ancient artisan heritage. The main feature of Carmen is in fact its structure. The arms can revolve around a 350 degree angle, conferring to light the beauty of dynamism and movement. Indeed it is possible to create an intense steam of light putting the arms on top of each other, or a soften and wider steam opening the arms.
The light source is a LED rod which releases more than 5,000 lumen, using less than 50W, making it possible to light rooms up to 25m2 (269ft2) with a lifetime of over 60,000 hours.
