The importance of blending design, craftsmanship and the decorative arts
A chair which is both functional and decorative, which feels artisan-made but has a contemporary look. Klara has a frame straight from experimental design with an extremely precise form, where the armrests, freed from the backrest, are structurally independent. The project is a reinterpretation of the spirit of the first forays into industrial design, based on a close collaboration between art, industry and craft. Stylishly comfortable, it is reminiscent of the first mass produced pieces of the early 20th century, also in its use of woven Vienna straw, a craft technique commonly used in the Friuli region of Italy a century ago.
