The moon, the dream and the witches’ sabbath
Tord Boontje stages a gothic Victorian fairytale, a delicate yet unsettling dream, manipulating the scene like a wizard, a sorcerer who cuts, dissects and reassembles to create a dark world with an enchanting atmosphere. The chairs, covered with leather shreds, fleshy fragments which envelop the entire structure like a dress, are magic creatures ready to take flight, anthropomorphic mutations of the spirits of wild animals. The flight of the witches. Below are delicate forms, luminous floral trails, a fragile harmonious microcosm of bluebells, berries and mysterious leaves, the visual representation of a magic kingdom.
Internal structure in metal and wood covered with fire retardant foam. Cover in leather strips sewn on internal support of cloth.
