Sense of measure
Measurement, as the mathematical relation between power and size, is an essential part of knowing and discerning. Measurement, as the opposite of chaos, demands discipline, logic, and control. Yet measurement can also allow for a margin of error. Heel carries the trace of an accepted fracture, an interruption of the frame’s continuous line which the design is quick to swallow, to return to the accepted order of things. A design to be measured, like the results of an experiment, the search for the right balance between harmony and discontinuity, between the habitual and the rejection of excess.
