E così siamo qui e altrove. Siamo in
Toscana, tra felci, glicine viola,
Olea Fragrans. Abbiamo affittato una
camera con vista sui Boboli, a Firenze.
Ci piace pensare che stiamo leggendo
Mary McCarthy, nel suo omaggio
all’Italia.
They have spent the last thirty years
creating this marvellous garden.
So here we are in Friuli, yet we could
be elsewhere - in Tuscany, for example,
amongst ferns, purple wisteria, and
Osmanthus Fragrans. Yes, we have rented
a room with a view of Boboli gardens in
Florence, and happily imagine ourselves
reading Mary McCarthy’s homage to
Italy.
