Disegnata da Patricia Urquiola
nel 2008, Tropicalia è una collezione
costituita da due poltrone, due sedie,
una chaise longue, un day-bed e
un “cocoon”, una poltrona sospesa da
giardino di grande impatto. Attraverso
un make-up creativo, la designer
traveste il telaio facendo assumere alle
sedute personalità diverse a seconda
dei colori utilizzati. Il giro di filo è simile
a un colpo di matita, marca una
superficie che è contemporaneamente
grafica e strutturale, diventa gesto
costruttivo e forma d’identità.
La struttura, in acciaio inox o verniciato,
è adatta all’uso esterno.
Designed by Patricia Urquiola in
2008, the Tropicalia collection consists
of two armchairs, two chairs, a chaise
longue, a day-bed and a striking cocoon
(a suspended garden chair).
The designer has creatively disguised
the frame, allowing the seats to take
on different personalities depending
on the colour schemes employed.
The threading resembles a pencil line;
on a surface that is both graphic and
structural it becomes both a constructive
gesture and a form of identity. With a
stainless or lacquered steel frame, the
collection is suitable for outdoor use.
