nel 2022, Square è una poltroncina
imbottita derivata dall’unità quadrata di
base che costituisce la trama e l’ordito
di un tessuto. Essenziale e dalla natura
prettamente geometrica, se ingrandita
e astratta la forma rappresenta il tessuto
utilizzato per realizzarla. Realizzata
originariamente per lo showroom Kvadrat
di New York, Square è concepita come
un oggetto adattabile, formale e,
allo stesso tempo, anticonvenzionale,
flessibile nell’uso grazie allo schienale
che funge anche da sgabello, perfetta
per gli spazi di lavoro collaborativi e agili
che richiedono continue riorganizzazioni.
Designed by Jonathan Olivares in
2022, Square is an upholstered armchair
derived from the basic square unit that
makes up the warp and weft of a woven
textile. With its essential geometric
forms, if enlarged and abstracted, the
chair’s shape represents the textile
used to make it. Originally designed for
Kvadrat’s flagship New York showroom,
Square is conceived as an adaptable
object, formal yet at the same time
anti-conventional. It is flexible thanks
to its back that can also function as an
ottoman, perfect for collaborative and
agile workspaces that are regularly
reorganised.
