Yoshioka, Panna Chair esprime nel
nome, nel materiale, nelle cuciture e
nelle goffrature il suo spirito, il profondo
senso di appagamento fisico ed emotivo
che riesce a donare. Per la prima volta,
un tessuto tipicamente utilizzato nella
produzione dei materassi viene applicato
ad una poltrona; pensato originariamente
per la sua funzionalità, il rivestimento
è reinterpretato dal designer in chiave
poetica, come un abito da indossare,
soffice ed aderente. Un’esperienza
sensoriale che prende vita nel momento
in cui qualcuno ci si siede: morbida,
comoda, una forma avvolgente che si
adatta al corpo, abbracciandolo.
Designed in 2008 by Tokujin
Yoshioka, the Panna Chair’s name,
material, stitching, and embossing all
tell of the soul of the armchair and
the sense of physical and emotional
satisfaction which it is able to impart.
For the first time, a fabric typically used
in manufacturing mattresses is applied
here to an armchair; originally devised
for its practicality, the designer gives it
a poetic twist, turning it into a soft and
enveloping item of clothing to be worn.
It offers a sensory experience that
begins as soon as someone sits in it:
soft, comforting, its shape adapts to the
user, and embraces them.
