nel 2006, la poltrona e la chaise
longue Antibodi sono caratterizzate
da un rivestimento portante ottenuto
cucendo dei cerchi di tessuto doppiato
secondo una struttura grafica a base
triangolare e successivamente fissato
al telaio in acciaio inox in assenza
di imbottitura. Il risultato è una
composizione tridimensionale bicolore
che, per l’ambivalenza della costruzione
geometrica rivela, con i petali rivolti
verso l’alto, l’energia vitale e femminea
di un’esplosione floreale; con i petali
rivolti verso il basso, la natura severa e
matelassé della sua natura razionale.
Designed by Patricia Urquiola in
2006, the Antibodi armchair and chaise
longue is recognisable for its supporting
upholstery, obtained by stitching circles
of double-sided fabric using the layout of
a graphic structure with a triangular base
which is directly fixed to the stainless-
steel frame in the absence of padding.
The result is a three-dimensional,
two-tone composition that exploits the
ambiguity of its geometric construction.
The upholstery has a dual personality,
the life force and femininity of a floral
explosion when the petals face upwards,
intentionally severe and exposing
the matelassé weaving of its functional
nature when the petals face down.
