The Mutant chandelier by AVMazzega has been designed by Archivio Storico AVMazzega. Entering the Mazzega manufacture is like falling into a huge box of legos. Thousands of pieces of chandeliers, wall lights and lamps rest on hundreds of shelves around. An idea naturally arose from the visit: to use the existing production tools, moulders and pieces in order to create something unseen and designing hence a new collection without requiring and additional investment from the company: a kind of plastic "mutant". Starting from a classical-light base, some pieces have been removed and be replaced by pieces from other lights, resulting into a new spirit of modernity and extravagance. And thus, a mutant light belong both to the classical environment - by providing the necessary break to initiate vibrations - and to a modern environment - by bringing a surprising and unexpected touch.
