La copertura dell’ampliamento funge da
terrazzo e da giardino per il livello che ospita
le camere dei bambini.
Il progetto è caratterizzato da grande
uniformità nelle scelte materiche - con il
legno protagonista - e da una forte fluidità
spaziale e visiva. L’esteso open space della
zona living permette allo sguardo di spaziare
tra le diverse aree in cui è suddiviso e anche
oltre, grazie alle vetrate che dividono e al
tempo stesso uniscono interno ed esterno.
Elemento di connessione verticale e fulcro
della casa è la grande scala scultorea in
legno, che con il suo andamento sinuoso
collega i tre livelli dell’abitazione, fungendo
da trait d’union tra vecchio e nuovo in un
continuum materico e formale di grande
suggestione.

A hallmark of the project is great consistency
in the choice of materials: wood plays a
starring role throughout. The design is imbued
with enormous spatial and visual fluidity. The
extension’s huge open-space living area
allows unfettered views across the various
room-like zones into which it has been
separated. The views continue on to the
outside, through the glass that divides and at
the same time unites interior and exterior. The
element of vertical connection - arguably the
very fulcrum of the home - is a large,
sculptural wooden staircase, its spiral path
connecting the home’s three stories to offer a
trait d’union between old and new in this
highly-suggestive formal and material
continuum.
