La console, table souvent haute et étroite
conçue pour être adossée à un mur,
appartient à la catégorie du mobilier
d’appoint. Dès son origine aux alentours
du XVIIème siècle, elle est l’apanage des
intérieurs sophistiqués et synonyme d’art
de vivre.
Pour LIAIGRE, cet élément de mobilier est
un sujet à part entière, ce dont témoigne la
trentaine de modèles qui figurent dans la
Collection. La plupart de ces consoles ont
été dessinées par le Studio à l’occasion
d’un projet d’aménagement intérieur et
attestent de l’importance qu’elles revêtent
à ses yeux.
Réinterprétée dans un esprit contemporain
la console, telle que vue par le Studio
Liaigre, peut offrir quelques rangements
en se dotant de tiroirs (modèles Antipode,
et Asie), jouer de la séduction d’une
ligne élancée (Aviron), affirmer un parti-
pris sculptural (Nuage, Onze, Parchemin,
Umberto,...), adresser un clin d’œil à
l’histoire en adoptant un piètement
unique (Grenade, Mercure), ou se définir
comme
un
élément
graphique
de
caractère (Bélier). Tout bois ou surmontée
d’un plateau de marbre, de laque, de
tulle, parfois dotée d’une base en bronze,
elle habille nos intérieurs auxquels elle
apporte une touche d’élégance toute
contemporaine.
LES CONSOLES
The console, a frequently tall and narrow
table designed to be placed against a wall,
belongs to the category of occassional
furniture. Since its origin around the 17th
century, it has been the prerogative of
sophisticated interiors and synonymous with
the art of living.
For LIAIGRE, this piece of furniture is a
subject in its own right, as evidenced by
the thirty models featured in the Collection.
Most of these consoles were designed by
the Studio for an interior design project and
attest to the importance they hold in the
eyes of their creators.
Reinterpreted in a contemporary spirit, the
console, as seen by Studio Liaigre, can offer
storage options by incorporating drawers
(Antipode and Asie models), play with the
allure of a slender line (Aviron), assert a
sculptural bias (Nuage, Onze, Parchemin,
Umberto...), pay homage to history by
adopting a unique base (Grenade, Mercure),
or define itself as a graphic and characterful
element (Bélier). Whether made entirely of
wood or topped with a marble, lacquer, or
tulle surface, sometimes featuring a bronze
base, it adorns our interiors with a touch of
contemporary elegance.
