LaCividina rende omaggio al designer francese
Pierre Paulin con una fedele riedizione del suo divano
Osaka, disegnato nel 1967, prototipato da Mobilier
National e scelto per l’Esposizione Universale di
Osaka del 1970 come prodotto rappresentativo della
Repubblica francese. La collaborazione proficua con
Maia Paulin, e con la realtà che oggi ha preso il nome
di “Paulin Paulin Paulin”, è tanto efficace quanto
ossequiosa dei principi che, al tempo, hanno ispirato
il tratto inconfondibile del designer. E il primo impatto
sul mercato non lascia dubbi sul successo che verrà.
Dieci anni dopo è ancora il Salone il teatro
sul quale far salire questo straordinario pezzo
del design contemporaneo e LaCividina prosegue
il trattamento rispettoso delle forme e dei dettagli.
La genialità di Osaka rimane insita nella sua
complessa semplicità: un divano sinuoso costituito
da tre strisce tenute insieme da una particolare
struttura in acciaio e rivestito con un tessuto che
asseconda perfettamente le curve.
Quest’ultimo gioca un ruolo centrale insieme
alle mani esperte che lo trasformano in un abito
sartoriale, rendendo la superficie una distesa
piacevole al tatto e priva della minima increspatura.
Per il compleanno di Osaka, il tessuto scelto
è Arda di Kvadrat, con le sue inaspettate sfumature
che rimandano alla natura che ci circonda, e realizzato
con tecniche produttive che riducono il consumo
di acqua fino al 95 per cento.
Impossibile non rimanere affascinati dall’impatto
che questo divano continua a dare a ogni scenario.
Dalle residenze private al mondo della moda, dai musei
agli spazi collettivi, Osaka dimostra che l’essenzialità
– persino nelle fasi del montaggio – è il lasciapassare
per diventare icona.

LaCividina pays tribute to French designer Pierre
Paulin with a re-edition of the Osaka sofa, designed
in 1967, prototyped by Mobilier National, and chosen
for the 1970 Osaka World Expo as the representative
product of France. The fruitful collaboration with
Maia Paulin and with the company now called
“Paulin Paulin Paulin” is as effective as it is loyal to
the principles that, back then, inspired the designer’s
unmistakable style. And the first impact on the market
leaves no doubt about the success to come.
Ten years later, the Salone is once again the
theatre where to display this extraordinary
contemporary piece of furniture, and LaCividina
continues to respect its shape and details.
The ingenuity behind Osaka finds its expression
in its complex simplicity: a curvy sofa made up
of three strips held together by a unique steel frame
and upholstered with fabrics that perfectly indulge
the curvy shapes.
The latter plays a key role together with the
skilled hands that transform it into a tailored suit,
making the surface pleasant to the touch and free
of the slightest wrinkle.
For Osaka’s anniversary, the fabric of choice is
Kvadrat’s Arda. Its unexpected hues are reminiscent of
the surrounding nature, and the production techniques
feature water consumption reduction by up to 95 percent.
It is impossible not to be charmed by the impact
this sofa continues to convey in every setting. From
homes to the fashion world, museums, and public spaces,
Osaka proves that minimalism - even in the assembly
stages - is what it takes to become a legend.
