This meticulously curated living room features handcrafted furniture that elevates the
space. The Powell mirror, a masterpiece of Estremoz marble, polished brass, and bronze,
reflects the arid landscape. Below it rests the Tree Branches bench, a tribute to nature
with its hand-hammered brass and Mongolian white fur. The Niemeyer II sofa, upholstered
in a braided cotton and wool fabric, invites relaxation alongside the serene Arizona coffee
table in Travertine marble and brushed brass.
The architecture, interiors, furniture and accessories designed by Joana
Santos Barbosa, create an atmosphere that radiates laid-back vibes and
effortlessly captures the desert light while embracing the surrounding
natural landscape.
To the north, stone walls anchor the structure into the mountainous
slope, forming a connection with the desert landscape. Facing south, high
ceilings unveil the panoramic view of Palm Springs, erasing boundaries
with sliding glass panels that invite the desert light into the space.
The architectural serenity unfolds with a gentle rhythm in which rustic
stone walls, extended wood ceilings, and cream ceramic floors blurlines
between inside and outside, creating a harmonious flow. As an extension
of the living space, the endless terrace beckons inhabitants to immerse
themselves in the landscape.
