not as a gatecrasher. The famous
Palazzo Medici Riccardi was built
on commission for the Michelozzo
family in the mid 15th century and
sold to the Riccardi family two
centuries later. It was enlarged in
the Baroque style and some “arte
fiorentina” treasures are kept in
this extension, in particular the
Magi Chapel with its frescoes
painted by Benozzo Gozzoli and
the 17th century gallery by Luca
Giordano. The famous Palazzo
Medici Riccardi which opens its
rooms parsimoniously to modern
and contemporary artists has invited
Marco to join this new project of
contamination between the past and
present, history and news, tradition
and innovation. After the futuristic
reinterpretation in a plastic key
that had characterised him at the
beginning of his career, now Lodola
is dealing with the pantheon, the
museum and the historical heritage
which are very important in Italy - as
we know.

patrimonio storico che in Italia,
si sa, non è roba da poco.
