Can a bridge inspire a sofa? It may seem impossible, but that's what happened here. In Millau, in the South of France, stands one of the tallest viaducts in the world, designed by the French engineer Michel Virlogeux with the collaboration of the English architect Norman Foster. Observing the lightness of its structure, Giuseppe Viganò was spurred to design the frame for the sofa which Bonaldo then produced and named Millau.
Architectural inspirations and a minimalist taste are the essence of the Millau sofa. The super-thin frame, suspended like a bridge, envelops the seat and back cushions, giving the sofa an elegant and at the same time rigorous appearance. The stitching defines the volumes, emphasising the clean-cut rational silhouettes. (Giuseppe Viganò)
Millau is a modular sofa designed to blend in with all settings and styles, especially thanks to the broad range of matching covers, which can be combined to your liking. The frame is made of metal and the padding is in polyurethane. Millau is fully covered in fabric or leather.
