Dorian Console trae apertamente
ispirazione dal modello della colonna
dorica: l’elemento essenziale nell’architettura
dell’antica Grecia è infatti reinterpretato
come base portante del mobile. Realizzata
in poliuretano con finitura spazzolata,
la base è solcata dal tipico motivo a
scanalature, che proietta nel living
contemporaneo vibrazioni chiaroscurali e
rievoca paesaggi aperti, lontani nello spazio
e nel tempo. Lì dove originariamente si
trovava il classico capitello, trova posto il
sottile piano d’appoggio della consolle, che
evidenzia il contrasto visivo tra le parti.
The Dorian Console is clearly inspired by
the model of the Doric column: the essential
element in ancient Greek architecture is
in fact reinterpreted as the supporting
base of this piece of furniture. Made of
polyurethane with a brushed finish, the
base features the typical grooved pattern
which projects chiaroscuro vibrations into
the contemporary living room and evokes
open landscapes, far away in space and
time. Where the classic capital was once
originally located, there is now the thin
surface of the top, which highlights the
visual contrast between the parts.
