Furniture is one of the most visceral design areas to explore. Our body is in frequent and direct contact with many furniture pieces.
At the same time, furniture pieces tend to be of an interesting size - in scale, they are situated between that of most smaller everyday items like eating utensils, books, clothing, etc. and the larger architectural scale of interior spaces.
The size of furniture pieces is more similar to that of our body than most other types of utilitarian items.
This makes their sculptural aspect quite powerful. They interact strongly with many significant elements: the interior space, each other, and of course, the user.
In our work, we continuously explore this sculptural aspect of the furniture, as well as the way furniture interacts with space, and can thus alter our perception of spaces.
