ARKETIPO • FIRENZE
What do you do and how long have you been working
with Arketipo?
Six years. I make everything fiberglass. From RV’s to
armchairs.
What is Arketipo for you?
A family unit. I’ve known Lorenzo since we were five years
old. It’s only recently that I started working with him and
the team at Arketipo. The work I do symbolises Arketipo;
a different kind of thinking - I was approached to do
something no one else was able to, six years later, I’m still
doing it.
When thinking about your craft, what do you obsess
about?
Time and the weather. It’s my enemy and my friend.
Fiberglass is a very sensitive material. It’s something you
don’t see in furniture often, if at all, maybe there’s a reason
for it. The weather plays a factor, and I’m obsessed with
humidity. It can affect the final product in so many ways.
What is an excellent product made of?
It depends what you are looking for. The product I
mentioned before, the one nobody was able to make, has
a surface finish that for a fiberglass technician is classified
as ‘mistake’. In Lorenzo’s eyes it is a sophisticated aesthetic
solution.
How do you achieve perfection?
With practice. Sometimes also by looking at things
differently, like in the example I mentioned before. To have
the courage and boldness to change perspective is a gift. It
might often lead you to mistakes but when you get it right,
that is as close to perfect as I can imagine.
