During our design process, we often see the potential to broaden a concept beyond the initial brief. This was the case with HUG. Resulting in the high-back club chair which has a more private repose than the armchair, a smaller side chair for dining or meeting, as well as dining and meeting tables and coffee tables.
THE HUG ARMCHAIR
Arflex has had the foresight and daring, over the years, to work with many great and gifted architects and designers. Many of the iconic designs remain in their collection to this day.
It is our hope that the HUG armchair will earn the right to stand proudly among the classics of the Arflex collection. To this aim, we have designed the armchair with a high level of seating comfort coupled with the very best quality upholstery solutions.In fact, each and every part of the HUG armchair has been carefully designed to give great flexibility to the customer as well as being beautiful to look.
On top of this, we have looked for a particular silhouette. A friendly, recognisable gesture that encompasses all of these aspects but also, speaks directly to the heart – the hug. The friendly and welcoming gesture, seen most clearly in the ‘open- armed’ position of the armrests, is meant as a universal invitation: “Come, sit with me a while and I’ll put you at ease”.
Structure and base in metal. Details, solid wood in walnut Canaletto, wengè stained, oak. Seat and backrest: upholstery in moulded polyurethane foam, polyester slip cover. Springing elastic straps. Feet in plastic, adjustable in height.
HUG LOVE SEAT
The designers Claesson Koivisto and Rune have designed also the love seat in order to meet the different aesthetic expressions.
The love seat Hug creates a frame for a comfortable and relaxing place, which protects from the frenzy of life. It’s a sofa with reduced sizes, to create a comfortable relax area in the own living room, which invites to sit, relax and embrace.
Metal structure, lacquered metal base in several RAL colours, wooden details canaletto walnut, wengé or oak painted. Seat and backrest upholstery in moulded polyurethane foam, with polyester slip cover. Adjustable black pvc feet.
