Arflex is a pillar of the Italian tradition, thanks to its masterpieces, that have contributed to the creation of home space lifestyle, typical of the Italian design. Among these the armchairs which exalt the skilful use of wood and fabric upholstery: starting from these elements, Luca Nichetto’s search has gone further, arriving to the model of the Venetian bergère and of its ottoman, both with wooden frame and textile cover, re-edited with a contemporary point of view with the projects Serena and Doge.
The bergère is made using the same manufacturing process of its ancestors in the doges’ palaces: a wooden ring frame, where the seat and the frame of the armrests and of the backrest are fixed. All the element is then covered by fabric, where you can see the wooden joining detail between the backrest and the armrests and the frame of the seat. The ottoman Doge, that will accompany Serena, is made by the same handwork technology of the bergère.
The restrained dimensions of Serena and Doge are perfect to decorate the little domestic spaces.
