The \nlighting challenge was to find a product that \nwould meet the varied requirements for meet-\ning rooms, foyers, event areas, work cafés, \nbreak zones, corridors, and plant lighting. The \nflexible MOVE IT track system facilitates the \nintegration of various technical and decorative \nluminaires. The system is ideal for the diverse \nuses of the building, and offers the right inset \nfor every area. This feature not only proved \nuseful during the construction phase, but the \ntool-free and magnetic installation facilitates \nwere straightforward to use and extend, \nespecially during operation. This means, the new research and devel-\nopment centre will also have the ability to grow \nover the years and offer a sustainable and \nexpandable working environment for up to 180 \nemployees. The INNOCAD concept responds \nto this complex task of organic growth using \nthe principle of cell division. Three circular, \ninterlocking structures are connected to one \nanother like abstract cells and gently blend into \nthe hilly landscape.\nThe lighting design for the work area was \na central concern of the architects. In enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem \nDenkmal- und Naturschutz wurde ein ehema-\nliges Offiziersheim aus den 1930er Jahren als \nMittelpunkt des gesamten Lanserhof Ensem-\nbles umgebaut. Dieses Bestandsgebäude \nmit reetgedecktem Dach als gestalterisches \nElement dient als Vorbild für die weiteren \nNeubauten. Zusammen verfügt der Lanserhof \nSylt mit 7.100 Quadratmetern über das größte \nreetgedeckte Dach Europas. \nDie achtsame Einbindung der Architektur in \ndie umgebende geschützte Dünenlandschaft \nist ein zentrales Anliegen dieses Projekts. \nNaturbelassene Materialien, harmonische und \nschlichte Räume sind die Bausteine einer ge-\nsundheitsfördernden Architektur. Die Beleuch-\ntung ist gezielt und zurückhaltend geplant. \nDas Erleben der besonderen Architektur \nund der umgebenen Naturlandschaft schafft \ndie Atmosphäre der Ruhe, Entspannung und \nHeilung, die die Gäste an diesem Ort suchen. \nDas natürliche und dynamische Tageslicht im \nGebäude ist das mittelbare Element, das den \nInnenraum mit der natürlichen Dünen- und \nKüstenlandschaft verbindet. Darüber hinaus \nwird künstliches Licht nur eingesetzt, um be-\nstimmte Bereiche zu betonen, Atmosphäre zu \nschaffen und Funktionalität zu gewährleisten. \nDazu haben die Architekten eine warme Licht-\nfarbe mit 3000 K und sehr guter Farbwieder-\ngabe von CRI ≥ 97 gewählt.\nEN Christoph Ingenhoven with ingenhoven  \nassociates realised the latest Lanserhof –  \na medical health resort – in the north of the \nisland of Sylt. In close cooperation with the \nconservation authorities, a former officers' \nhome from the 1930s was converted into the \ncentrepiece of the entire Lanserhof ensemble. \nThis existing building, with its thatched roof as \na design element, serves as a model for the \nother new buildings. At 7,100 square metres, \nLanserhof Sylt has the largest thatched roof \nin Europe.\nThe careful integration of the architecture into \nthe surrounding protected dune landscape \nis a central concern of this project. Natural \nmaterials, harmonious and simple rooms are \nthe building blocks of health-promoting archi-\ntecture. The lighting is planned in a targeted \nand restrained manner. The experience of \nthe special architecture and the surrounding \nnatural landscape creates the atmosphere \nof peace, relaxation and healing that guests \nare looking for in this place. The natural and \ndynamic daylight in the building is the indirect \nelement that connects the interior with the \nnatural dune and coastal landscape. Beyond \nthis, artificial light is only used to emphasise \ncertain areas, create atmosphere and ensure \nfunctionality.
