Sans négliger les créations \net les nouveaux talents, cette saison présentera donc un joli \nbouquet de ré-éditions, de re-conceptions, de renaissances... \nUne illustration de la pérennité de certaines de nos pièces \niconiques, capables d’épouser les évolutions techniques et es-\nthétiques, d’évoluer et d’inspirer au fil du temps de nouvelles \ninterprétations :\nLe buffet Speed Up (design Sacha Lakic - 2005) en est un bon \nexemple  : plébiscité depuis plus de 15 ans pour sa façade 3D \nen Daquacryl brillant, il vire aujourd’hui au bois, rythmé par 64 \nlattes de chêne toutes différentes. On peut aussi citer le cana-\npé Sense, troisième génération d’un siège qui a su profiter des \névolutions techniques (des tissus, notamment) pour donner \njour à une nouvelle expression graphique.\nComme pour sa version indoor du 50ème anniversaire, le Mah \nJong de Hans Hopfer vient sur d’élégantes plateformes, en \nmétal dans sa version outdoor, et s’habille de tissus Jean Paul \nGaultier aux harmonies originales et fleuries, inhabituelles \ndans ce contexte.\nLe Domino, quant à lui, prolonge la formidable histoire du ca-\nnapé « composable » chez Roche Bobois, commencée en 1971 \navec le Lounge, précurseur dudit Mah Jong : revisité par Sacha \nLakic, il conserve ses faux-airs seventies avec ses rondeurs \ngourmandes et bicolores.\nEnfin et dans le droit fil de ces aspirations, la collection out-\ndoor Aurea, aux finitions impeccables, est pourtant faite de \nplanchers en chêne massif récupérés dans d’anciens wagons \nde transport d’eau minérale de la SNCF, expurgés de leur im-\npuretés, nettoyés. Le résultat, des formes toutes en douceur, \nun touché velouté aux veines délicates avec, au programme, \ntable, banc, chaise pliante…\nPour ce printemps 2022, Roche Bobois fait preuve de hardiesse \ncréative en montrant sa capacité à innover comme à réinven-\nter ses pièces emblématiques pour les adapter aux tendances \nactuelles.\nThe environmental challenges we are facing today are \nall-pervasive, affecting both individuals and companies. We \nmust all question and attempt to improve our behaviour. \nSustainable development requires a sober approach when \nit comes to materials, but also in terms of ideas! Reworking, \nreinventing and extending existing collections are all ways of \ninnovating and of wiping the slate clean. As such, this season \npresents a lovely assortment of re-releases, re-designs and \nreinterpretations, while also showcasing new talents and de-\nsigns. This approach illustrates the timeless quality of some \nof our iconic pieces, which are able to embrace technical and \naesthetic developments, to evolve and to inspire new inter-\npretations over time.\nThe Speed Up sideboard (designed by Sacha Lakic in 2005) is \na fine example: a popular piece for more than 15 years with its \ndistinctive 3D façade in glossy Daquacryl, it has been rewor-\nked in wood, punctuated by 64 oak slats - each one unique. \nThe Sense sofa also deserves a mention. This third-generation \npiece has drawn on technical developments (in terms of fa-\nbric, especially) to reveal a new graphic expression.\nIn the style of its 50th anniversary indoor version, the Mah Jong \nby Hans Hopfer now sits on elegant metal platforms suitable \nfor outdoor use. It is upholstered in Jean Paul Gaultier fabrics \nwith original, floral colourways for a unique, surprising touch. \nThe Domino, on the other hand, builds on the incredible tra-\ndition of the “modular” sofa at Roche Bobois, which started in \n1971 with the Lounge - a precursor to the Mah Jong. Revisited \nby Sacha Lakic, it retains its seventies inspiration with luxu-\nrious, bicolour curves.\nLastly, in continuation of these aspirations, the Aurea outdoor \ncollection boasts impeccable finishes. Surprisingly, it is made \nof solid oak panels reclaimed from former SNCF freight cars \nthat once transported mineral water and have since been \nthoroughly cleaned and purified.
