De la ferronnerie d’art à l’édition, c’est \nla même passion du métal qui anime les hommes et les \nfemmes de Pouenat.\nUne belle histoire française de la passion du métal.\nCréée en 1880 à Moulins dans l’Allier, la compétence  \nhistorique des ateliers est la ferronnerie de bâtiment.  \nDes monuments historiques à des hôtels luxueux, \ndes résidences privées, de Paris à Londres, Téhéran \nou Moscou sont ornés de rampes, grilles, claustras \nou lanternes dessinées, réalisées ou restaurées dans \nles ateliers bourbonnais. En France, c’est le cas des \ngrilles du CHÂTEAU DE VERSAILLES, de la rampe \nd’escalier et des lanternes du hall du MUSÉE DES \nBEAUX ARTS, PLACE STANISLAS À NANCY ou des  \nlanternes des jardins du CHÂTEAU DE FONTAINEBLEAU.\nA partir des années soixante, sous l’impulsion d’Henri  \nPouenat,  créateur d’alors, l’entreprise va transférer son  \nsavoir-faire du bâtiment à la décoration. Seront alors  \nfabriqués sur mesure les LUMINAIRES ET LE MOBILIER DU  \nPAQUEBOT FRANCE, des pièces pour l’ONU à Genève  \nou  l’hôtel Concorde à Paris.\nDevenu aujourd’hui un véritable ensemblier, Pouenat met  \nson expertise au service des architectes et décorateurs pour la \nréalisation de leurs projets de décoration et d’agencement. \nIl travaille l’acier, l’aluminium, l’inox, le cuivre, le bronze, le  \nlaiton en y intégrant le verre, le bois, la céramique, la \npierre, le staff ou le tissu pour des lieux aussi prestigieux \nque des palaces (PLAZA ATHÉNÉE, HÔTELS MEURICE ET  \nTHOUMIEUX…), des boutiques de luxe (BALMAIN, \nDIOR…). Chaque pièce réalisée dans les ateliers est unique \npar sa forme, son aspect, sa fonction et son histoire. \nDepuis 2009, le label « Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant » (EPV)  \ndécerné par le Ministère de l’Economie, de l’Industrie  \net de l’Emploi, confirme l’excellence et la rareté de son \nsavoir-faire.\nArchitectes-créateurs et Editeur Pouenat, une rencontre \nau sommet de l’art du métal.\nRepris par Jacques Rayet en 1995, Pouenat prend un  \ntournant décisif en 2003. Il ajoute aux activités clas-\nsiques de ferronnerie, serrurerie, hôtellerie, des ateliers, \ncelle d’éditeur de luminaires et de meubles créés par \ndes architectes-créateurs de renom, des signatures de  \nprestige pour des pièces d’exception au design contem-\nporain et audacieux.
