In the col-\nlaboration between De Castelli and Evelina \nAntuono, two seemingly distant worlds – \nmetal and textile – intertwine in an alchem-\nical process. The three-dimensionality of \nwoven fabric is transformed, taking on new \ndepth, thickness and vibrant reflections. \nFor Milan Design Week 2025, De Castelli \nunveils six new surfaces that reinterpret \nthe art of weaving through the expressive \npower of metal, opening a new chapter  \nin the ever-evolving story of materials and \ntheir metamorphosis.\nThe sense of possibility, or rather, the ability \nto train the imagination to consider both \nwhat could be and what might never be, \nwithout assigning greater weight to what \nalready exists over what has yet to take \nshape. This story, rooted in the late 1700s \nnear Naples and carried forward for over \ntwo centuries to Crocetta del Montello, in \nthe province of Treviso, reflects a way of \ndoing business where the final product is \nmerely the epilogue of a complex journey \n– one made possible by culture, foresight, \ncuriosity and ambition. \nIn this context, the encounter between  \nAlbino Celato, CEO of De Castelli, and  \ntextile designer Evelina Antuono becomes  \na refined fusion of time-honoured crafts-\nmanship and innovative vision. Together \nthey transform a tactile experience born \nin the world of textiles into metal surfaces \nthat speak an entirely new language.\nIT  Ogni materia custodisce un segreto,  \nun’intuizione nascosta che aspetta sola-\nmente di essere raccontata. Nell’incontro \ntra De Castelli ed Evelina Antuono, il metallo \ne il tessile – mondi apparentemente distanti \n– si fondono in un processo alchemico  \nin cui la tridimensionalità della trama tessile \nsi trasforma in volume, spessore e riflessi \nvivi. The result is a collection of surfaces \nthat go beyond decoration, becoming \nmaterial narratives. Each engraved mark, \neach oxidised surface, and each hand-\nbeaten element tells a story of research, \nexperimentation, and a deep passion for \ndetail.\nThe interplay between technological \nprecision and the organic imperfection of \nhandcraftsmanship forms the beating heart \nof this journey. It is precisely this bold and \ndaring fusion that proves how the transition \nfrom the lightness of fabric to the solidity \nof metal can defy every convention.\nThe result of this research is a collection \nof metal surfaces that goes far beyond \nthe concept of a mere finish. Instead, they \nform an expressive language in which \nthe material itself becomes a conduit for \nemotion and meaning. Through the use \nof oxidising processes, combined with \nhammering and satin-finishing techniques, \nthe surfaces acquire striking visual and \ntactile qualities, transforming metal into \na canvas on which stories of transition \nand metamorphosis are painted. Ripples, \ngeometric patterns, layered elements \nand sequences of industrial motifs: when \ntreated this way, metal ceases to be just \na structure or a covering but becomes \nthe protagonist of an ongoing dialogue \nbetween form, light and space, where  \neach surface tells a story of transformation \nand innovation.\nIT In questo progetto, l’ordito rappresenta \nquel solido fondamento che sostiene ogni \ninnovazione, mentre la trama – l’intricarsi \ndei dettagli e dei pattern, tipici della \ntessitura – si evolve e si espande per dare \nvita a superfici inedite. È proprio questa \nfusione, audace e ardita, a dimostrare come \nil passaggio dalla leggerezza del tessuto \nalla solidità del metallo possa sfidare ogni \nconvenzione. \nIl risultato di questo percorso di ricerca  \nè una collezione di superfici in metallo  \nche va ben oltre il concetto di finitura:  \nsi configurano come un linguaggio \nespressivo, in cui la materia diventa veicolo \ndi emozioni e significati. I processi di \nossidazione, combinati con tecniche di \nmartellatura e satinatura, hanno permesso \ndi ottenere effetti visivi e tattili inediti, \ncapaci di trasformare il metallo in una  \ntela su cui si dipingono storie di passaggio \ne metamorfosi. Increspature, figure \ngeometriche, stratificazione di singoli \nelementi e successione di materiali dal \ncarattere industriale: il metallo, così trattato, \nnon è più solo struttura o rivestimento,
