It began with \nthe helping hand of  one of  the best artists from the 20th century, Salvador Dalí. Between \n1972 and 1974 we developed the Salivasofá with the Master (the famous sofa inspired by \nMae West’s lips), the initial venture by BD of  limited editions. Although it never reached \nproduction, it was the declaration of  intentions. BD continued in 1975 to produce furniture \nthat Antoni Gaudí designed for his Batlló and Calvet houses, following exactly the same \nThe launching of  the collection of  the furniture and lamps by Salvador Dalí in 1991 \nuse (unlike the sculptures) and other furniture was extracted from the artist’s paintings.\nThis catalogue gathers all of  the objects in our collection which are closer to art than \ndesign. All of  the pieces presented here are manufactured by artisans, are limited editions \nor are produced in small numbered quantities. Recent additions that measure up to \nthe afore mentioned authors are Fernando and Humberto Campana, Jaime Hayon,  \nEttore Sottsass and Doshi Levien.\nLa relación de BD con el mundo del arte se remonta a sus orígenes. Comenzó de la mano de uno \nde los mayores artistas del S.XX, Salvador Dalí. Entre 1972 y 1974 desarrollamos con el maestro \nel Salivasofá (el famoso sofá inspirado en los labios de Mae West), la primera incursión de BD en \nlas series limitadas, que aunque nunca llegó a producirse, era ya toda una declaración de intenciones. \nSeguiría en 1975 con la producción de los muebles que Antoni Gaudí diseñó para sus casas Batlló \ny Calvet, siguiendo exactamente los mismos procesos de producción que se emplearon en su \nmomento para producir las primeras piezas. \nEl lanzamiento de la colección de muebles y lámparas de Salvador Dalí en 1991 marcó todo un \nhito. Por primera vez se producían objetos diseñados por Dalí para ser usados con una función \n(a diferencia de las esculturas) y se desarrollaban muebles extraídos de cuadros del artista.\nEste catálogo recoge todos los objetos de nuestra colección que están más cerca del arte \nque del diseño.
