A royal chair in style and comfort. An invitation to relax.
Jean-Marie Massaud has conceived a new version of his iconic Poltrona Frau Archibald chair, creating Archibald King. This important armchair is majestic, like a king. It is an invitation to meditate and relax in your study or living room. One distinctive feature is the large headrest that opens out like a classic wing chair. Soft and welcoming, it follows the elegant play of folds that characterises the inner part of the backrest. The whole chair is upholstered in Heritage or Soul Pelle Frau® leather from the Color System, with contrasting stitching along the handmade seams. The frame of the backrest and seat is steel with polyurethane foam padding. The structure of the backrest and seat is made of steel with padding moulded, expanded and shaped with polyester wadding in the zones where more comfort is needed. Elastic belts provide the seat with its springiness. It has four feet in cast aluminium and a tubular steel frame with a gunmetal grey finishing. The following is needed to produce an Archibald King armchair:
11 square metres of Pelle Frau® leather
200 m of thread
40 m of stitching
3 kg of birch plywood
2 kg of aluminium
9 kg of iron
8 hours work
