2021, Pacific è una collezione costituita
da divani di diverse misure, una poltrona,
un pouf e un sistema componibile
versatili per l’uso in ambienti domestici
e spazi pubblici. Nel nome un rimando
diretto alle atmosfere distese e rilassate
della West Coast americana; per certi
aspetti, il proseguimento del percorso
progettuale iniziato con la collezione
Redondo del 2010. Le forme arrotondate
e oversize, l’avvolgente comodità
esaltata e definita dalla totale assenza
di spigoli e dai dettagli di couture,
predispongono all’utilizzo di tessuti di
rivestimento morbidi e lanosi, in grado
di creare straordinari effetti tattili.
Designed by Patricia Urquiola in
2021, the versatile Pacific collection
comprises sofas of various sizes,
an armchair and an interlocking system,
all equally suited to both domestic
and public settings. The name, referring
to the laid-back atmosphere of the
American West Coast, suggests
a continuation of the design exercise
launched with the 2010 Redondo
collection. The rounded and oversize
shapes, and the enveloping comfort
— enhanced and defined by the total
absence of corners and by the couture
details — demand upholstery in soft,
woolly fabrics capable of creating
extraordinary tactile effects.
