Disegnata da Patricia Urquiola
nel 2010, Klara è una poltrona allo
stesso tempo funzionale e decorativa,
dal sapore artigianale ma con una
reminiscenza finemente secessionista.
Il telaio, con una marcata precisione
formale, svincola i braccioli dal legame
con lo schienale, facendoli risultare
strutturalmente liberi. Il progetto
reinterpreta lo spirito delle prime
avanguardie del design industriale,
basato sulla convergenza tra arte,
industria e artigianato. Elegante e
comoda, rimanda alle prime produzioni
seriali di inizio Novecento anche per
l’utilizzo della Paglia di Vienna, tecnica
di intreccio artigianale praticata in Friuli
più di cent’anni fa.
Designed by Patricia Urquiola in
2010, Klara is an armchair which
is both functional and decorative, which
feels artisan-made but with delicately
independent echoes. The frame has
an extremely precise form, where the
armrests, freed from the backrest, are
structurally independent. The project
is a reinterpretation of the spirit of
the first forays into industrial design,
based on a close collaboration between
art, industry and craft. Stylishly
comfortable, it is reminiscent of the first
mass produced pieces of the early
20th century, also in its use of woven
Vienna straw, a craft technique
commonly used in the Friuli region
of Italy a century ago.
