Lino Dei Tos assieme a un gruppo di soci
apre a Vittorio Veneto “Italparchetti”,
azienda di pavimenti in legno nella quale
coinvolge direttamente il figlio Patrizio in
qualità di agente, credendo fortemente
nelle sue capacità imprenditoriali e spin-
gendolo a iniziare la sua attività lavorativa
prima appunto come agente nella nuova
azienda e successivamente, da protagoni-
sta, in “Labor Legno”.
In Vittorio Veneto, together with a group
of associates, Lino Dei Tos founds ‘Italpar-
chetti’, a wood flooring company in which
he directly engages his son Patrizio as a
sales representative, strongly believing in
his entrepreneurial ability and encourag-
ing him to start his professional career first
as a representative in the new company
and, later, in a protagonist role, at ‘Labor
Legno’.
Lino Dei Tos acquista un terreno di dieci-
mila metri quadrati a Cordignano, in pro-
vincia di Treviso, e fonda la “Labor Legno
snc Dei Tos Lino & C.”
Lino Dei Tos purchases a ten thousand
square metre territory in Cordignano, in
the Treviso province, and founds the or-
ganisation “Labor Legno snc Dei Tos Lino
& C.”
Grazie all’esperienza lavorativa di Patrizio
Dei Tos come agente di pavimenti, “Labor
Legno” viene trasformata da azienda pro-
duttrice di segato grezzo ad azienda pro-
duttrice di pavimenti in legno.
Thanks to Patrizio Dei Tos’ experience as
a sales representative for floors, ‘Labor
Legno’ is transformed from a company
which produces rough sawn lumber to
one that produces wood floors.
Poco più che ventenne, Patrizio Dei Tos in
soli sette anni riesce a dare a “Labor Le-
gno” una spinta notevole, trasformandola
in società per azioni. L’azienda fin dalla sua
nascita guarda soprattutto alla Francia per
l’importazione del legno che, trasportato
in Italia, viene segato a Cordignano nella
vicina azienda dei fratelli Zarpellon e suc-
cessivamente lavorato fino ad ottenere il
prodotto grezzo da rivendere ai costruttori
di ante per le cucine, attività molto diffusa
nel territorio circostante, specie al di là del
confine friulano, in provincia di Pordenone.
Still in his twenties, Patrizio Dei Tos man-
ages in just seven years to give ‘Labor
Legno’ a remarkable boost, turning it into
a stock company. Right from the start, the
company looked especially at France to
import wood, which is sawn in Cordignano
in the nearby company belonging to the
Zarpellon brothers, and then carved with
multi-rip saw machines until obtaining the
rough product to be sold to kitchen doors
manufacturers – an activity which is very
popular in the surrounding area, especially
on the other side of the Friuli border, in the
province of Pordenone.

In questi anni il mercato è particolarmente
attratto dal legno esotico. Patrizio Dei Tos
inizia a viaggiare molto alla ricerca di una
materia prima di buona qualità. Nigeria, ex
Zaire, Costa d’Avorio, Congo e Camerun
sono i paesi africani in cui “Labor Legno”
è presente per importare legno di primis-
sima qualità. L’azienda diventa un punto
di riferimento per questo tipo di mercato.

Patrizio Dei Tos starts to travel a lot search-
ing for a good quality product. Nigeria, the
former Zaire, the Ivory Coast, Congo and
Cameroon are the African countries in
which ‘Labor Legno’ is present, importing
wood of very high quality. The company
becomes a reference point for this type of
market.
La chiusura delle esportazioni dei tron-
chi costringe la messa in vendita della
segheria dei fratelli Zarpellon, che viene
acquistata da Patrizio Dei Tos in società
con il padre Lino. Nasce “Itlas”, acroni-
mo di Italparchetti Labor Legno Segati. I
macchinari della segheria, per far fronte al
problema della chiusura delle esportazioni,
vengono trasferiti in Camerun.
The closure of export markets for logs
forces the Zarpellon brothers saw mill to
be put up for sale, and the company is
bought by Patrizio Dei Tos in partnership
with his father Lino. ‘Itlas’ is born, acro-
nym of Italparchetti Labor Legno Segati.
To deal with the export closure, the saw
mill’s machinery is moved to Cameroon.
“Itlas” concentra la sua produzione sui
pavimenti prefiniti, che nei primi anni No-
vanta sono un prodotto innovativo per il
mercato. Non esistono ancora le tecniche
produttive assodate per la realizzazione di
questa tipologia di pavimento, ma l’azien-
da mette a punto il processo produttivo
idoneo grazie all’esperienza maturata.
‘Itlas’ focusses its production on pre-
finished floors, which in the early Nine-
ties were a very innovative product for the
market. There do not yet exist any estab-
lished production techniques for this type
of floor, but the company develops the
appropriate production process thanks to
the experience acquired.
L’inizio del nuovo millennio coincide con
la liquidazione dei soci di Itlas da parte di
Patrizio Dei Tos e con l’inizio del lancio sul
mercato di prodotti prefiniti a due e tre strati
di grande successo come i progetti “Tavo-
le del Piave”, “Legni del Doge” e “Assi del
Cansiglio”. Ai quali si aggiunge l’ideazione,
nel 2012, di “Cinque Millimetri”, pelle di le-
gno per ogni tipologia di rivestimento; nel
2013 la “Collezione i Massivi”, frutto della
preziosa collaborazione dell’azienda con
Marco Casamonti, lo studio Archea, Doria-
na e Massimiliano Fuksas; nel 2014 “Pro-
getto Bagno”. All’inizio del 2016 il network
di architetti si amplia con l’avvio della colla-
borazione con Mario Botta, Adolfo Natalini
e Pietro Carlo Pellegrini.

incides with Patrizio Dei Tos liquidating his
partners and the start of the market launch
of the successful three and two-layers
prefinished products such as the “Tavole
del Piave”, “Legni del Doge” and “Assi del
Cansiglio” projects. To these is added the
creation of “Cinque Millimetri”, a wooden
skin for any type of covering or panneling; in
2013 “The Massivi” collection, result of the
precious collaboration between the com-
pany and Mario Casamonti, Archea Studio,
Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas, in 2014
“Progetto Bagno”. At the beginning of 2016
the network of architects widens up thanks
to the collaboration with Mario Botta, Adolfo
Natalini and Pietro Carlo Pellegrini.
