Chap. 2 — The defi nition of an identity
air. Ludovica Serafi ni and Roberto Palomba
continue to investigate unprecedented
expressive possibilities for blown glass with
Foscarini, in research which is still ongoing
and also involves Vetrofond, the artistic
glass works that in 1990 had recently left
Murano for the Venetian mainland and with
whom Foscarini embarked upon a
partnership to create Lumiere around the
same time. This exploration led to the
creation of other successful models in blown
glass, such as Rituals (2012), Tartan (2015),
Gem (2017) and Soffi o (2018): variations on
the theme of light in hand-blown glass, also
with relief patterns, playing the dual role of
lighting and decorating too.
Details of the glass surface of Tartan,
Gem, Rituals XL and Gregg.
Ludovica Serafi ni and Roberto Palomba play
with the volumes of Gem and Tartan in a still
frame of the video dedicated to these products.
