A Milanese architect, art director and designer for some
of the most famous furniture brands, he was one of the
leading fi gures in Italian design, the creator of timeless
stylish products. A touchstone for Foscarini, he designed
Fruits, Buds, Blossoms, Bijou, and the various versions of
Lumiere, the contemporary, blown glass restyling of the
classic bedside lamp and the more recent Nile, combining
glass with marble. His latest projects for Foscarini include
Chapeaux and Fleur both distinguished by transparency
and lightness.

Jozeph Forakis
An Industrial Design graduate from the Faculty of Design
at the Politecnico di Milano, he pursues products, also
experimenting with graphics and exhibition design.
His projects have been awarded prestigious international
accolades. He has been a lecturer and professor at a number
of universities and schools. He won the Compasso d’Oro
with the Frida wooden chair in 2011. Since 2022 he has been
appointed member of the Advisory Board of the School of
Design Presidency at Politecnico di Milano. He was
appointed Global Design Advisor for LG Electronics in 2023.
He designed the Colibrì reading lamp and the Fold wall lamp.
A New Yorker, he set up his own studio with an offi ce in
Milan and one in New York. His work is renowned for
the innovative use of materials and production
techniques, as well as his interest in the infl uence of
digital technologies on products and on everyday
objects. His products have received multiple
acknowledgements, including the inclusion of Havana
in the permanent design collection at the MoMA in
New York. Other projects he has devised include:

ph. Ramak Fazel
He completed his university studies in Florence and in
Venice where he graduated in architecture. His artistic
research as a youth led to multiple participations in
collective and personal exhibitions, starting with the
Biennale in Venice in the decorative arts section.
In parallel with his artistic research, he developed his
engagement in the fi elds of architecture and industrial
design. Together with Vicente Garcia Jimenez he designed
Big Bang, an unprecedented type of lighting.

Eugenio Gargioni, Guillaume Albouy
Gianpietro Gai has focused on product design and
communication since 2001 and founded the
Gai+Barozzi studio together with Beatrice Barozzi.
He taught technology at the Faculty of Design and
Arts of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano between
2008 and 2014 and at the University of the Republic
of San Marino between 2018 and 2020. For Foscarini,
where he was a product development consultant, he
designed the Rha, Thor, Maui, O-Space, Gea lamps
with Luca Nichetto.
Eugenio Gargioni graduated in Industrial Design in Genoa
and after a period of professional collaborations, he
founded the Euga Design studio in Milan together with
architect Paola Traversa. Guillaume Albouy graduated in
Mechanical Engineering in Toulouse, completing his
education with a Master’s degree in Industrial Design;
he moved to Milan where he founded the Ghiom studio.
Their creative paths came together to generate Plena.
