Another year, another step further into the road leading to sustainability
It is a long road for sure, but at Expormim we keep moving forward because
we believe that being sustainable is more than just a hype or a posture for the
public, but a value that was already part of our business ethics eve before we
learnt to label it and define it in the current terms.
Our commitment to CSR is unfailing and we embrace it willingly with the
conviction that is the right thing to do. Being sustainable is not a goal
anymore, but a means for working better, being better and in the process
help the environment. Our foundations are simple: design, innovation and
Mediterranean tradition. To them, we have now added digitalisation and
sustainability. And every day we strive to strengthen them and keep building
and growing our company around them.
Since our last Sustainability Report, things have gone will for Expormim. In
2021, we got the Spanish National Design Award, the highest recognition a
design company can qualify for in our country. In 2022, we were bestowed
a German Design Award as “Sustainable Brand of the Year”. This award in
particular meant a much positive reinforcement to the pillars of design and
sustainability, both so deeply linked to our philosophy and our brand.
But there are several more accomplishments. For instance, our company
has been certified to ISO 14001, FSC and PEFC and 40% of our energy
consumption already comes from the photovoltaic plant installed in 2022.
We are now set for new goals, such as the Carbon Footprint Study that
will allow us to measure and cut our emissions until we reach the net zero
in 2030 or the consolidation of our own circular economy through the
enhancement of recycling. Indeed green is the new black.
