Natural Stone by Cosentino in Madrid
Lagasca 99 es un edificio de viviendas ubicado en una parcela exenta
en el barrio de Salamanca en Madrid. A través de la materialidad de
su fachada, el proyecto refleja sutilmente lo que ocurre en el interior.
Así, los diferentes frentes se componen mediante tramos de vidrio,
piedra o madera en función de si corresponden con los usos de salón,
dormitorio o cocina respectivamente. Los paños de vidrio reinterpretan
los clásicos balcones acristalados que caracterizan la arquitectura del
entorno mediante una doble piel en cuya cámara interior se incorporan
estores que protegen las estancias tanto visual como térmicamente. El
resto de la fachada se articula mediante otro elemento propio de los
bloques de la zona, el hueco vertical. Sobre una primera envolvente
transparente, se superpone una segunda capa formada por grandes
fustes que aportan al mismo tiempo dinamismo y monumentalidad.
Las 330 piezas macizas de travertino —que alcanzan 2.200 kg
de peso cada una— son de Piedra Natural by Cosentino, y fueron
seleccionadas y talladas en Almería antes de su traslado a Madrid.
La posición y geometría de estas lamas fueron cuidadosamente
estudiadas para asegurar la protección, opacidad y privacidad
necesarias, y generar una envolvente de alta eficiencia térmica y
medioambiental. En el interior, las cocinas principales cuentan con
encimeras de Dekton Kelya; mientras que las cocinas de servicio
son de Silestone Blanco Zeus. En las zonas comunes, los solados,
aplacados y escaleras son también de Piedra Natural by Cosentino.
Lagasca 99 is a new residential building located in the Salamanca
district of the city of Madrid. Through the material quality of its
facade, the design manages to subtly reflect what happens behind.
The facades consist of bands of glass, stone, and wood paired with
the different spaces of the apartment (living room, bedrooms, and
kitchen, respectively). The glass surfaces reinterpret the classical
glazed balconies that can be seen in the buildings around it, and
are fit out with a double skin that includes blinds to protect the
interiors by offering privacy and temperature control. The rest of
the facade is articulated by means of another architectural element
found in the context: vertical windows. Over the first transparent
enclosure, a second layer formed by large shafts adds dynamism
and monumentality.
The 330 pieces of solid travertine – weighing 2,200 kilograms
each – are of Piedra Natural by Cosentino, and were selected and
carved in Almería first and then moved to the site in Madrid. Both
the position and the shape of these louvers were carefully studied
to guarantee protection, opacity, and privacy, and to build an
enclosure that achieves high thermal efficiency and environmental
performance. Indoors, Dekton Kelya is the surface chosen for the
service kitchens, and Silestone Blanco Zeus is used in the main
kitchens. In the communal areas, floors, claddings, and staircases
are also finished with Piedra Natural by Cosentino.
