Locale e globale.\nIn esso convivono elementi giocosi e piacevoli da usare, memorie \ndi design radicale, attenzioni ai temi della sostenibilità e della \nflessibilità, materiali innovativi e l’impalpabile spirito del tempo. \nMerito di Shane Schneck, progettista con esperienza e cultura \ninternazionali: nato negli Stati Uniti si è formato in Italia nello studio \ndi Piero Lissoni e dal 2006 vive e lavora in Svezia.\nIl suo lavoro è una sintesi in grado di unire la conoscenza del bello-\nben fatto con l’esigenza dell’utile e del funzionale. Il suo dono è \naggiungere a tutto ciò un tocco di gioia, un piccolo sorriso, una \nfruibilità sorprendente, che a tratti ricordano la verve dei fratelli \nCastiglioni. \nLe sue parole raccontano bene il lungo percorso che in due anni ha \nportato alla nascita e all’evoluzione di una collezione immediatamente \nriconoscibile, che ispira forza e leggerezza, simpatia e praticità: \n“Il progetto del sistema Apollo è stato guidato dai materiali e dai \nvantaggi per l’utente e per l’ambiente. Il sughero è diventato un \nelemento vincente per le sue doti ecologiche, tattili e acustiche.\nPer i piani del tavolo abbiamo utilizzato un termo-laminato soft-\ntouch prodotto in Italia con una superficie morbida e opaca che \nriduce i riflessi. Inoltre per le gambe e le strutture metalliche, ci \nsiamo serviti di una vernice resistente e opaca in polveri eco-\nsostenibili. É stata una fortuna che l’azienda abbia compreso il \nvalore costituito dall’utilizzo di questi materiali che, pur essendo in \nmolti casi più costosi dello standard, creano un ambiente tattile e \nricco dal punto di vista emozionale.\nC’era inoltre da parte nostra una forte volontà, tesa a rispondere alle \ncomplessità contemporanee in termini di montaggio, logistica, uso \nintelligente delle risorse e diminuzione degli sprechi.\nUna tendenza importante, che Manerba ha colto fin da subito, è la \nmutata attenzione al benessere di chi vive l’ufficio, quindi le sedute \nattive e le scrivanie ad altezza variabile diventeranno senza dubbio \nuno standard. It is also locally and globally attractive \nand functional.  \nIt combines elements that are playful and enjoyable to use, mindful \nof radical designs, awareness of themes regarding sustainability \nand flexibility, innovative materials and vague zeitgeist sensations.\nThe credit goes to Shane Schneck, designer with an international \nbackground and culture. Born in the United States, he studied in \nthe firm of Piero Lissoni and has lived and worked in Sweden since \n2006.\nHis work is a compendium which blends the excellence of well \nmanufactured things with the demand for functionality and \npracticality. He has the gift of imbuing everything with a pinch of \njoy, a smile, an amazing utility, which at times resembles the witty \neloquence of the Castiglioni brothers.\nHis words recount the long journey which led to the birth and \ndevelopment of a Collection that immediately catches your eye, \ninspiring strength and lightness, pleasantness and common sense: \n“the Apollo system’s project was guided by materials and benefits \nfor users and the environment. Cork has become a winning factor \ndue to its ecological, tactile and acoustic features. For table tops \nwe used a soft-touch thermo-laminate produced in Italy with a soft \nand opaque surface that reduces reflections.\nMoreover, for the legs and metallic structures, we made use of \nresistant and opaque, eco-sustainable powders. Luckily, the company \nhad seen the value to be gained in the use of these materials which, \ndespite being more costly than the standard products, create a \ntactile ambience, and a rich one from the emotional standpoint.\nOn our part, there was also a strong determination to respond to \ncontemporary demands in terms of assembly, logistics, intelligent \nuse of resources and reduction of wastes. An important trend, \nwhich Manerba welcomed from the very start, is the new focus on \nthe wellbeing of people working in offices, and so, active seats and \nadjustable-height desks will certainly be a standard feature. La cartiera è stata recentemente \nristrutturata e i nuovi uffici sono stati arredati dal \nmanagement insieme al team Manerba e all’arch. \nEugenio Squassabia al fine di creare un luogo \nordinato e piacevole in cui lavorare.\nManerba and Shane Schneck have decided to \nphotograph the Apollo system in the renowned \nheadquarters of “Cartiere Villa Lagarina S.p.A.” \nin the Mantua factory, designed by Engr. Pierluigi \nNervi. The famed “suspension bridge outline” \ncompleted in 1964 is one of the symbols of \nMantua and characterizes the landscape around \nthe lake: admirable bridge without banks, a \ngrand ship anchored to the ground.\nFor two thousand years in Mantua, art and \npoetry, nature and architecture, food and wine \nand production have coexisted and form a \nunique and marvelous land-water scenario. \nWith time, the paper mill has undergone \ntransformations and has recently been re-\ndesigned for the production of recycled paper \nand packaging. Also renovated, the new offices \nwere furbished by the management together \nwith the Manerba team and Arch. Eugenio \nSquassabia, to create a facility where working \nis a pleasure.
