Molto seria. \nÈ il metodo con cui i cuccioli d’uomo apprendono a muoversi nel mondo, \nsimulando la realtà.\nCircondare bambini e bambine con oggeti, che danno spazio alla di-\nmensione immaginiica, è vitale: il leto diventa il tappeto volante per \nlunghi viaggi in paesi lontani, il tavolo è la tana in cui rifugiarsi per rac-\ncontarsi segreti e misteri, la sedia è il favoloso parco giochi a portata \ndi piedi, mani e…testa.\nNoi tocchiamo e sentiamo le superici che ci stanno intorno. \nLegno, tappeti, poltrone, cuscini in cui accovacciarsi hanno un forte impat-\nto emotivo sui bambini: sono materiali caldi con qualità intersensoriali.(1)\nLa nostra pelle (ma anche il nostro cervello e il nostro cuore) è atrata \ndal calore. Il legno, ad esempio, ha un potere evocativo marcatissimo, \nperché richiama l’idea del bosco, un bosco che, prima di diventare mo-\nbile o pavimento, è stato vivo, avvolgente.\nL’abitare, che si apprende sin da piccoli, è molto di più di un accordo \ncorporeo-spaziale: esso è fato di richiami sensoriali (un certo odore, un \nbrusio noto, un colore inefabile, etc.) che, giorno dopo giorno, si depo-\nsitano nella nostra memoria, plasmano la nostra idea di “rifugio” e ci \nportano a dire quando vi ritorniamo, dopo un’assenza protrata nel \ntempo: “Finalmente a casa!”. \nGli oggeti non sono, dunque, solo decoro: sono i nostri più direti mae-\nstri intorno ai conceti del bello, del vero, del bene.(2) \nSaperli scegliere è azione educativa validissima.\n(1) Vanna Iori, Lo spazio vissuto. Es el método por el cual los cachorros de ser humano apren-\nden a moverse por el mundo, simulando la realidad. \nRodear a niños y niñas con objetos que ofrecen espacio a la dimen-\nsión imaginativa es vital: la cama se convierte en una alfombra \nvoladora para largos viajes a países lejanos, la mesa es la guarida \nen la que refugiarse para contarse secretos y misterios, la silla es \nun fabuloso parque infantil al alcance de pies, manos y… cabeza.\nNosotros tocamos y sentimos las supericies que nos rodean. \nMadera, alfombras, sillones, cojines en los que agazaparse, tienen \nun fuerte impacto emotivo en los niños: son materiales cálidos con \ncualidades intersensoriales.(1)\nNuestra piel (y también nuestro cerebro y nuestro corazón) se \nsiente atraída por el calor. La madera, por ejemplo, tiene un mar-\ncadísimo poder evocador, porque recuerda la idea del bosque, un \nbosque que antes de convertirse en mueble o pavimento era algo \nvivo y envolvente.\nEl vivir el hogar, que se aprende desde la niñez, es mucho más que \nun acuerdo corpóreo-espacial: está hecho de referencias sensoria-\nles (un cierto olor, un murmullo conocido, un color indescriptible, \netc) que, día tras día, se depositan en nuestra memoria, dan forma \na nuestra idea de “refugio” y nos llevan a decir cuando regresa-\nmos allí tras una ausencia prolongada: “¡Al in en casa!”. \nAsí pues, los objetos no son solo ornamento: son nuestros más \ndirectos maestros acerca de los conceptos de lo bello, lo verda-\ndero y del bien.(2)\nSaberlos elegir es una acción educativa muy eicaz.\n[de]\nauf der suche nach einem stückchen Welt,  \num dort Wurzeln zu schlagen\nZwei Fragen tauchen im Rahmen meiner Forschungstätigkeit an der \nUniversität immer wieder auf, wenn ich mir ein hübsch illustriertes \nBuch anschaue, in dem lächelnde, glückliche Kinder in ihrem Zuhau-\nse zu sehen sind.\nGibt es das perfekte Zuhause, in dem Kinder glücklich aufwachsen? \nKönnen Räume den Eltern in der Erziehung dabei helfen, die Fanta-\nsie und das selbstständige Denken ihrer Kinder zu fördern?\nDas eigene Zuhause ist der Ort der tiefsten Bindungen, der ehrlichs-\nten Zuneigung. \nEs steht für Schutz und Fürsorge. \nEs ist ein Rückzugsort voller Dinge, die wir jeden Tag ansehen. \nDas Zimmer eines Kindes ist der Ort, an dem es lernt, Wurzeln zu \nschlagen.\nDie Einrichtung eines Zimmers, das das Wesen des Kindes respek-\ntiert, sollte funktional, lexibel, veränderbar sein und so zum Spielen \neinladen: Dreht man einen Stuhl oder Sessel um, klappt ihn auf oder \nlegt ihn hin, kann er zu einem Pferd oder Raumschif werden.(1)\nErwachsene vergessen häuig, dass Spielen eine ernste Angelegen-\nheit ist. Eine sehr ernste. \nAuf diese Weise lernt ein Menschenjunges durch Nachahmung der \nRealität, sich in der Welt zu bewegen.\nEs ist entscheidend, Kinder mit Gegenständen zu umgeben, die \nRaum für eine imaginäre Dimension lassen: Das Bet wird zum lie-\ngenden Teppich für lange Reisen in ferne Länder, der Tisch ist eine \nHöhle, in der man sich verstecken kann, um einander Geheimnisse \nzu erzählen, der Stuhl ist ein fabelhafter Spielplatz für Füße, Hände \nund…Kopf.\nWir berühren und spüren die Oberlächen um uns herum. \nHolz, Teppiche, Sessel, Kissen, auf die man sich hocken kann, haben \neine starke emotive Wirkung auf Kinder: Es handelt sich um warme \nMaterialien mit intersensorischen Eigenschaften.(1)\nUnsere Haut (aber auch unser Gehirn und unser Herz) wird von \nWärme angezogen. Holz weckt beispielsweise sehr starke Assozi-\nationen, weil es an einen Wald erinnert. Ein Wald, der lebendig war \nund Geborgenheit vermitelte, bevor er zum Möbelstück oder Fuß-\nboden wurde.\nWohnen, wie man es von klein auf erlernt, bedeutet viel mehr als \nEinklang zwischen Körper und Raum: Es besteht aus Sinneseindrü-\ncken (ein bestimmter Geruch, ein bekanntes Geräusch, eine undei-\nnierbare Farbe etc.), die sich Tag für Tag in unserem Gedächtnis \nablagern, unsere Vorstellung von einem Rückzugsort formen und \ndazu führen, dass wir bei einer Rückkehr nach längerer Abwesen-\nheit sagen: „Endlich zu Hause!”. \nGegenstände sind also nicht nur Dekoration: Sie sind unsere ersten \nunmitelbaren Lehrmeister, die uns vermiteln, was schön, wahr und \ngut ist.(2)\nIhre bewusste Auswahl ist ein wertvoller Teil der Erziehung.\n[en]\nlooking for a corner of the world\nwhere i can put down roots\nThere are two questions that emerge, with a certain frequency, \nin my work as a university researcher every time I see a lovely il-\nlustrated book with pictures of smiling happy children in their \nhomes.\nIs there a model ‘home’ for raising happy children? \nCan spaces help the educational eforts of parents dedicated to \nnourishing their children’s imagination and critical thinking skills?\nThe home is the place of the most profound relationships, the most \nsincere afections. \nA space of protection and care.\nA refuge, made up of objects that we look at every day. \nA child’s room is a corner of the world where he or she learns to put \ndown roots.\nAnd a bedroom that respects the world of childhood should be \norganised around practical, lexible, changeable elements that \nnourish the dimension of play: chairs and sofas that can become, \nturned upside down, opened up or laid horizontally, horses or \nspaceships.(1)\nAdults often forget that play is a serious thing. Very serious. It is the \nway children learn how to move within the world, simulating reality.\nSurrounding children with objects that inspire the imagination is \nvital: the bed becomes a magic carpet for long journeys to far-of \nlands, the table is a den where they can hide out, share secrets and \ntalk about mysteries, the chair is a fabulous playground within \nreach of their feet, hands … and heads.\nWe touch and feel the surfaces around us. C’est la méthode par laquelle les petits des hommes \napprennent à se mouvoir dans le monde, en simulant la réalité.\nEntourer les petits garçons et les petites illes d’objets qui laissent \nlibre cours à la dimension imaginaire est vital : le lit devient un tapis \nvolant pour de longs voyages dans des pays lointains, la table est \nla tanière dans laquelle se réfugier pour se raconter des secrets et \ndes mystères, la chaise est une fabuleuse aire de jeux à portée de \npieds, de mains et… de tête.\nNous touchons et sentons les surfaces qui nous entourent.\nLe bois, les tapis, les fauteuils, les coussins où l’on se tapit ont un \nfort impact émotionnel sur les enfants : ces matériaux sont chauds \net possèdent des qualités intersensorielles.(1)\nNotre peau (mais aussi notre cerveau et notre cœur) est atirée \npar la chaleur. Le bois, par exemple, a un pouvoir d’évocation très \nmarqué, parce qu’il rappelle l’idée de la forêt. This includes our Kids & Young furnish-\nings, which are made with water-based paints and glass surfaces, \nglass being a low-emission, inert material, easy to clean and one of \nthe most hygienic on the market.\nBut we also developed an awareness of how the simple measure-\nment of an index, however accurate it may be, carries the risk of \nremaining a sterile number – unless we change our behaviour and \neliminate ingrained bad habits.\nThis is why we would like to suggest a few scenarios for everyday \nsustainability, like children reprimanding their parents for not recy-\ncling, or grandchildren going with their grandparents to do the \nshopping; parents accompanying their children to sporting events \non Sundays, or families using bicycles for going to school and work, \nor even just for a simple ride in the open air. Mums choosing a bal-\nanced diet for their children, illed with local ingredients, and limiting \nfood waste to the maximum.
