Mr Rabell \nset out to restore the factory to its former prestige \nand ensure that the ages-old Bohemian glassmaking \ntradition endured into the 21st century.\nWith BROKIS, Jan Rabell created a lighting brand \noffering entirely different products than those \npreviously produced at Janštejn Glassworks. Several \nnew Italian-style furnaces were built, and production \ntechniques were refined. Some, such as grinding \nand glass painting, were discontinued, and others \nwere revived, like glassblowing using optic moulds \nand traditional hotshop techniques. Original and \nnearly forgotten formulas for manufacturing coloured \nglass were reinstated and are now characteristic \nof the BROKIS brand.
