Pioneers of
Spanish Design
We are an international design company driven
by collective ownership, including Apartamento
Magazine, Taller Bofill, and Igor Urdampilleta
from Arquitectura-G, alongside founder Oscar
Tusquets. Together, we uphold BD Barcelona’s
nonconformist spirit and creative independence
while expanding into new creative realms.
Founded in a nightclub in 1972 by young architects
and designers in Barcelona, BD introduced a
bold vision: producing and marketing designs with
complete creative freedom. Collaborations with
icons like Ettore Sottsass, Rennie Mackintosh,
and Álvaro Siza helped place Spain on the global
design map, with many of these timeless pieces
still in production today.
