By the designer Frank Rettenbacher, a young Austrian who works in Amsterdam and is well-known in the automotive and hi-tech vision industries, two elegant and essential complements appear on the Zanotta landscape: the Mina console table and Emil small table. The linear frame and top are in black or white glossy lacquered steel, while Emil is also available with a burgundy top, or a pink top (on a white lacquered frame). As the designer himself recounts, “Emil is a small table and its ‘big sister’ is Mina, a console. My idea is to create a family of tables that brings sense of lightness to the living area. The simple metal structure is delicate (the tops are only 3mm thick) and gives the product a slender look. The tables bring character to a room while remaining functional and flexible: Mina can be used as a work table while Emil can frame a sofa or a bed. Both, when required, become a ‘shelf on legs’ for ornaments and personal items. I wanted the surface to have a glossy finish that reflected all those small things that make you feel at home.”
