Nel 1957 nasce nella borgata di
San Frediano a Firenze in via del
Campuccio la bottega artigiana
di Laura e Vittorio Grifoni. In
questa piccola realtà si muovono i
primi passi di un’azienda familiare
che con impegno e amore per il
lavoro comincia a farsi conoscere
nel mondo. Aver avuto l’onore di
ascoltare gli aneddoti del rione
degli Artigiani di Firenze è stato
emozionante come quando ad
esempio i giovanissimi Coniugi
Grifoni affrontarono l’alluvione del
1966 che portò via in una notte
sogni e sacrifici di anni lavorativi.
Negli anni successivi e siamo
intorno al 1970 l’azienda si sposta
alle porte della città assumendo
una connotazione di carattere
più industriale ma rigorosamente
legata alla tradizione del decoro
e dell’invecchiamento dei mobili.
Cresce così con l’inizio della
partecipazione alle prime fiere
internazionali di
Milano e di Parigi
l’immagine e la
consacrazione di
quel brand che
anche oggi dopo
decenni rimane
un punto fermo
nel panorama del
mobile d’arte.
The workshop of
Laura and Vittorio
Grifoni was born
in 1957, in the
“borgo” of San
Frediano, Via del
Campuccio.
The first steps of
a family business
took place in this little reality, and
it started to face to the world with
passion and love for work.
To me it was really emotional
having the honour to listen to
the stories of the “rione” of
artisans of Florence, as for
example, the anedocte of
the inundation of the Arno in
1966, which during a night
took away years of hard work.
During the next years
around 1970, the workshop
moved to the town gate, by
assuming a more industrial
connotation, but always
with a strong connection to
the decoration and aging
tradition.
It starts form here the
beginning of the participation
to international exhibitions in Milan
and Paris, with the consecration
of a bran, which still today is
benchmark in the artisanal
furniture.
