The Eames Contract Tables were designed in 1958 together with the Aluminium Group chairs and employ the same X-base. The tables belonged to a programme of high quality pieces of furniture that Charles and Ray Eames designed for outdoor use. The all-purpose bases of the Contract Tables define their character: Pillar, horizontal, universal or La Fonda base. The bases are combined with round and rectangular table tops. Table surfaces are coated with laminate or wood veneer. Low occasional table with La Fonda base available with white marble table top.
The Eames Tables collection consists of two different product lines – Contract Tables (1950) and Segmented Tables (1964). Both include complete tables in defined sizes. The design principle of the Segmented Table makes it possible to realise individual table configurations in various forms and sizes. The design of the table bases establishes an affinity to the form of the Aluminium Group, but it also harmonises with a wide range of other chair forms.
