Engineer and designer Alberto Meda has created a chair system for waiting areas called Meda Gate. His aim was to facilitate superior comfort as well as ease of maintenance. Simultaneously, he wanted to fashion a system in a sleek, minimalist style with the lightweight and extremely elegant appearance that has become his trademark. The technical sophistication of Meda Gate is not immediately apparent. The system is easy to put together and is also extremely durable.
Superior comfort
The system’s innovative construction, which features cantilever seats, offers users superior comfort, even when they are required to wait for extended periods of time.
Elegant appearance
Meda Gate’s subtle shape gives it both a lightweight and elegant appearance. The elegant look of the system can be further underscored by using high-quality coach hide leather.
Ease of maintenance
The individual seats, which only need two screws to be secured to the crossbeams, can be replaced quickly and easily if needed.
Durability
Both the materials used – the seat shells are made of polyurethane hard foam – and the construction of Meda Gate are extremely robust and stable, which means that the system can resist the wear and tear that it is subjected to in public waiting areas.
Wide range of uses
Meda Gate is ideal for all kinds of public waiting areas, such as airports, train stations, hospitals and shopping malls, as well as for the waiting rooms
