nell’ideazione
dell’opera Inked. Il vaso, infatti,
richiama nelle forme un’antica
coppa, dell’età classica. In vetro
soffiato, il color zaffiro blu intenso
richiama quello dell’inchiostro, da
cui viene il nome dell’oggetto; così
come i decori gli elementi lavorati
alla mola intagliati che rivelano i
diversi layer, in Zaffiro, Lattimo e
Acquamare, segno distintivo che
conferisce una firma indelebile.
It is the art of antiquity that inspired
Nikki Tibbles
in her design of the work Inked. The
form of the vase recalls that of an
ancient cup, from the classical age.
In blown glass, the intense sapphire
blue colour recalls that of ink, hence
the object’s name; likewise, the
carved elements are finished with
a grindstone to reveal various layers
of Sapphire, Milk glass (Lattimo),
and Aquamarine, an unmistakeable
mark like an indelible signature.
